Alexander McQueen partners with the Al Tayer Group to open its largest store in Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates. The thirdstandalone store to open in the United Arab Emirates, it features the new retail concept conceived by Sarah Burton, Creative Director at Alexander McQueen. The 217.15 square metre space, spread over a single floor, is located within the newly renovated extension dedicated to luxury fashion,on the 1st floor of the Mall of Emirates.
The store has an impressive front, aged brass and black doors with a bronze Alexander McQueen cast handle are framed by illuminated white Carrera marble.
Keeping to a more pared back and minimalist aesthetic, the brand new store maintains the luxurious and rich detailing that is prevalent in the new retail concept. White lacquered shelving highlight the accessories on display and there are feature walls made bespoke from moulded plaster panels formed by a cornucopia of wings, shells, cactus flowers, mushroom gills, seahorse tails and tangled leaves with tiny skulls and grimacing gargoyles nestling in their folds.
The floor is laid with Nero Marquina marble alongside deep pile carpets whilefixtures such as the mirrors and display cabinets are gilded black and aged brass. Marble and soft leather furnishings continue to reflect the design of the interiors. Lighting is soft and highlights the muted palette of the store.
Divide into three main areas – handbags and shoes, Men’s ready-to-wear and accessories, women’s ready-to-wear and accessories – customers will be able to shop from the seasonal collections as well as classic items such as the iconic skull scarves and knuckle box clutches.
