August Promotion At Sisters Beauty Lounge

Thrilled at the prospect of some pre-holiday preening plus having a good old natter with a friend I haven’t seen in ages, we head off to Sisters Beauty Lounge in Al Bateen.

While going to the cheapest (and closest) beauty salon for a quickie mani/pedi is certainly appealing, there’s something to be said for indulging in a salon where you actually want to spend your time. Sisters is one of those places that feels treaty as soon as you walk in. Pristine white walls, comfy oversized sofas and chairs plus posh magazines to flick through as the staff work their magic make this more of a spa experience.

My friend and I decide to try all three treatments and start with a mani/pedi. Our hands and feet are soaked, filed and cuticles tidied. I also opt for an add-on treatment of a paraffin wax glove for my tired and dry feet that moisturises the cuticles and makes my skin baby-soft. I choose a pinky coloured varnish from the their extensive Essie range, and it comes out true to the colour in the bottle. The manicure is also just as meticulous and a de-stressing hand and arm massage complete the treatment. There is nothing left to do but sit back and relax while my friend and I catch up on our busy weeks. Up next is the blow dry.

You can smell the divine L’Oreal shampoos and conditioners as soon as you walk into the hair lounge. Sami my hairdresser makes sure she understands what sort of blow dry I would like and spends the time looking at my hair and face shape. I opt for a sleek, straight blow dry to help combat the frizz thanks to the summer humidity. A heavenly scalp massage, a cup of tea and some expert drying leave both my friend and I ‘dinner-date-ready.’

The verdict? You can say goodbye to pop-in-and-out beauty salons as here you can make an occasion of it. So far, my mani and pedi have stood the test of time with no chipping. Plus, my friend and I have found a new place to chat and take some time out. We’ll be back!
