Getting there

Koh Samui is one of the most popular islands of Thailand for international travellers as well as for local residents. It is therefore quite easy to get to the island whether you are travelling from abroad or are already in Thailand.

Our trip took us from Bangkok to Samui with a smooth 60mins direct flight with local airline Bangkok Airways. Samui airport being a small airport, you can expect to be out within 20 mins of landing and if you’re coming in on an internal flight, there are no customs procedures to clear, so you’ll find yourself through in no time.

At the exit, a transportation counter can provide shared or private transfer to the resort. It’s only AED 50 per person in a shared van, or AED 175 for a private vehicle for 4 pax for a 45mins-1hour drive to the Conrad Koh Samui, situated on the opposite side of the Island.

The Set-Up

Situated on the South-Western tip of the idyllic Thai island, Conrad Koh Samui overlooks the azure reefs of Aow Thai Beach from its unique position on a dramatic hillside. The resort’s secluded location is home to 81 free-standing villas, all with private balconies, commanding breath-taking views over the Gulf of Thailand. This amazing set-up took our breath away upon arrival as we discovered a property literally built on steep rocky hills.

As the internal roads of the resort will take you up and down the hillto get from one facility to another, buggies are compulsory and operated 24 hours by the Conrad team.

Spread over 25 acres, all buildings forming the Conrad property, including the villas, are built on sur-elevated piles. This guaranteesyou outstanding panoramic views over the Gulf of Thailand, outlying islands and the surrounding landscape of lush coconut plantations, wherever you are within the resort.

This particular feature also provides a fantastic set-up for the stunning sunsets you will enjoy directly from the private terrace of your villa or at one of the dining destinations or bars of the resort…

The Villas

One of the world’s most unique and innovative luxury resorts, Conrad Koh Samui blends luxury and technology with artistry and expertise. Our luxurious pool villa was furnished with fine Thai silks and authentic Thai handicrafts while at the same time being connected with cutting-edge technology solutions including satellite television, Apple based TV, iPod dock or high-speed internet access through Wi-fi.

As we got upgraded to the highest villa category, we could also enjoy additional features such as the best view over the Gulf of Thailand from our room, an Integrated Bose Sound System with speakers spread all across the villa and our own Apple iPads which will definitely seduce those who like to travel light…

With 130sqm of indoor and outdoor space, we enjoyed the comfort of our villa so much that we did not mind spending most of our time there during rainy times.

The best feature of Conrad Samui villas, and certainly a unique selling point for the property, is the private terrace featuring a sundeck and a 10m infinity edge pool for all pool villas. A feature that will definitely seduce honeymoon travellers looking for more privacy.

Relax and unwind in your private pool, take an indulgent bath in the oversized bathtub, or enjoy an invigorating rain shower in the villa’s luxury bathroom before heading for sunset drinks and dinner…

JAHN- The culinary jewel in the Conrad Koh Samui’s crown.

This exclusive venue with only 28 seats delivers the finest Thai and pan-Asian cuisine as you overlook the moonlit resort and the breath-taking Gulf of Thailand. A must place to visit when on a honeymoon stay.

ZEST – Mediterranean specialties and sublime ocean views al fresco at this all day dining venue.

We took our daily breakfasts and one of our dinners at Zest. The restaurant’s “Food Library” showcases artistically prepared ingredients that are then incorporated into tempting dishes. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

AZURE BAR & GRILL – One of our favourite outlets that sits next to the resort’s main infinity pool and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens.

The relaxed, open-air Azure Bar and Grill is perfect for if you seek a more casual dining option on the resort. Lovely staff, unpretentious dishes, and an impressive fire dance performance as you dine: we just loved it!

Leisure Facilities

Idyllic surroundings make Koh Samui a truly exceptional place to rejuvenate. The Conrad Koh Samui offers a number of high quality facilities and equipment for its guests.

Should you prefer to leave the privacy of your own villa pool, you will also be able to swim lengths at the resort’s beautiful infinity pool facing the sea. Sun lounges are available along the pool or you may also go a few steps down to find them by the beach too.

The resort gym is equipped with the latest cardiovascular and muscle-building equipment, including elliptical trainers, weight sets, and treadmills. You will be able to soothe potentially aching muscles with a session in the sauna, followed by a quick dip in the cold plunge pool.

Younger family members can be entertained by the Kids Club staff with a wide range of complimentary fun and engaging activities for children under 12 years including cultural arts and handicrafts or indoor and outdoor games.

Conrad Koh Samui also offers a luxury tour and activities centre where guests can book excursions on the property that allow them to discover the best of Koh Samui and nearby surroundings. Bespoke packages include day excursions to nearby islands or diving tours to nearby dive sites such as Sail Rock and Koh Tao.

As we visited the place on a honeymoon trip, we appreciated the scenery, the serenity and mostly the intimacy the place has to offer to couples. While the resort is a perfect place to spend your honeymoon, it can also offer a fantastic location to celebrate your union itself with special packages available too.
