The final day of ‘Fortnum and Mason presents Tennis at the Palace’ concluded a weekend of thrilling tennis set in the lavish grounds of Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Following the success of the inaugural event, ‘Fortnum & Mason presents Tennis at The Palace’ is set to become an annual fixture on the Emirate’s social calendar, with the tournament’s 2016 dates announced as 10 – 12 March 2016.
The concluding day of the three-day garden party, featuring legends of the game, kicked off with former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek playing Tim Henman which resulted in a highly entertaining and competitive exhibition match. The second match of the day saw Mansour Bahrami, Henri Leconte, Marion Bartoli, and Peter McNamara put in stellar performances.
Throughout the afternoon guests enjoyed unrivalled hospitality and cuisine on the grounds whilst marveling at the Fortnum & Mason hot air balloon tethered alongside the court. An exquisite afternoon tea was served courtesy of Fortnum & Mason prior to play resuming for a final doubles match, with Pat Cash and Richard Krajicek playing Tim Henman and Mikael Pernfors.
Following the end of play, players were presented with special gifts from Fortnum & Mason.
