Gaucho, a fine dining steakhouse, is best known for its Argentinean culinary style and cultural passion for showcasing the true essence of an Argentinean cowboy’s lifestyle through the art of food and wine.
Located in the bustling nightlife of DIFC (Dubai International Financial Centre), Gaucho offers splendid brunches and meals for food lovers from all walks of life living in the UAE. The Christmas menu is simply a nod to what they do best but in true festive spirit and style.
When KM was asked to try their festive menu, it was truly something out of the ordinary and beyond what Gaucho is known for serving. Besides their outstanding skills in the art of beef and different meat cutting styles, their 2018 Christmas menu now comes with roasted seabream and roasted turkey too in case you’d like an alternative to beef for your holiday brunch.
We were immediately made to feel welcome and festive as we were given small gift boxes and seated around a large family dining table to enjoy the festive spirit.
The gifts included a Rudolph candy stick and a Santa Claus crown and beside each of our table settings, a beautiful small Christmas menu was waiting temptingly for us.
The Festive brunch menu consists of Lobster Tacos, Tuna Ceviche, Watermelon salad, Empanadas, The Main course: a choice between Roasted Seabream, Roasted Turkey or Roasted Beef; and a dessert platter which contains Apple Crumble, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Strawberry Mess.
The Christmas brunch deal is divided into different pricing packages depending on your choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options for the day.
The Rudolph menu costs AED 470 and that includes soft drinks and selected mocktails.
Santa Claus for AED 560 includes house beverages such as selected grape, hops, cocktails and spirits.
Buddy The Elf for AED 670 includes house beverages such as selected grape, hops, cocktails, spirits and sparling grape.
Mrs. Claus for AED 790 comes with selected grape, hops, cocktails, spirits and French bubbles..
And last but not least, the Brunch Extension package is AED 115 where you can enjoy an additional hour of Santa Claus drinks.
As part of our media coverage, we tried everything on the menu offered by the manager and besides relishing our favourite Gaucho classics such as the tuna ceviche and empanadas, the roast seabream was out of this world. The fish steak tasted creamy and fresh out of the waters and was served alongside Brussels sprouts and bacon strips. The Roast Beef was thrilling as usual, it was made in the signature Gaucho way – medium rare, juicy and tender.
The dessert platter was what we were waiting for! The sticky toffee pudding was rich in caramel and brown sugar and tasted like a rich Christmas sweet treat. The Strawberry mess was full of strawberry cream and egg white Pavlov’s served with itsy bitsy strawberry pieces; it was insanely tempting looking and tasty too. Finally, the Apple Crumble tasted like a hot apple pie in a mud slide mess. It is definitely a treat for apple lovers!
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the festive menu and we cannot recommend this menu enough to all those who are unsure where to dine when the big holiday arrives.
