The design fits perfectly with the contours of your finger as the pad of your index finger rests against the hollow of the metallic tip. THE EYE CONTOUR: A DELICATE AREA
Mechanical and UV stresses represent microstresses responsible for 70% of the signs of ageing. In the dermis, they lead to tissue micro-tears that are reflected in the appearance of wrinkles and a loss of firmness. In the epidermis, they trigger molecular micro-tears on a DNA level. Invisible to the naked eye in the short term, they accumulate over time, accelerating skin ageing. In the eye contour area, the skin is 41% finer, more subject to micro-damage, and therefore all the more vulnerable.

Wrinkles and crow’s feet appear, and the skin loses its elasticity and firmness, leaving the coast clear for the development of dark circles and puffiness.

To combat the skin’s tendency to become thinner over time, Guerlain researchers have combined Abeille Royale Repairing Concentrate with a target plant complex composed of two plant extracts:

• Siegesbeckia orientalis extract increases elastin and collagen synthesis by the fibroblasts*. This stimulation helps to reinforce the tissue in the weakened eye contour area.
• Albizia julibrissin extract, which initially acts on the skin’s luminosity, takes complementary action here by reducing the production of MMP-2*, a metalloprotease that, stimulated by repeated UV exposure, unrelentingly damages the support tissue.

By helping to restore skin tissue density, both contribute to opposing the formation of wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.

For Gold Eyetech, Guerlain has formulated a serum texture that is both light and fresh on application and rapidly absorbed. On contact with the skin, the formula enriched in complex sugars leaves a continuous and cohesive film with an instant toning action that visibly smoothes the microrelief. A plant extract, combined with gelling agents, also creates a subtle, blurred and velvety finish on the skin.
