Here we speak to Reem about her success and about how she came about to be an inspirational entrepreneur.
1. What inspired you to be an entrepreneur in a male driven world?
My inspiration is my passion for beauty. Every human being needs to maintain their beauty and keep themselves in the perfect outlook to take care of their outer and inner beauty – that is why I started two concepts: a yoga center and LaLoge beauty salon. I believe women are the driving force and a woman always brings a balance between male and female through her positive energy. All women are dynamic and vibrant and need to realize and use their hidden potential to evolve in life because their main goal is to better themselves.
2. What made you bring the franchise of Jose Eber Laloge to UAE? What scope did you see in it?
Originally my sister and I would visit Jose Eber’s salon in L.A and over time we built a connection with him and became good friends. I’ve always wanted to start my own business in the industry and it just made sense to collaborate with Jose Eber. I aim to revolutionize the industry and take it to a higher level in the region. I think it would be a great opportunity for stylists to gain fame for themselves.
3. Who have been your role models in inspiring you to be successful and motivated?
Instead of looking for a role model, I think it’s motivating to be your own role model. I want to be the role model for women and to inspire them to take care of their family and business but also maintaining the spiritual and physical side. Women have powerful potential and have more capacity to do multi-tasking than men. I would like to be the role model to all women as we can add something to the world and to society to be creative and hardworking, a perfect mother, perfect boss and a perfect wife. I believe women should work and be independent financially, not just to fulfill their financial needs but for growing in life as a better human being.
4. I’ve heard you’re very well connected in the social world. What does extensive socialising teach you about dealing with people and about the corporate world?
I love to meet and be with people and learn as much as possible from each person and their different cultures, so your mind is open towards any occasion and that will be also making you a sound cosmopolitan personality. Through social media, I help my business grow and also show the women on the other side that they can achieve their goals in a decent and respectful way.
5. If you have any words of wisdom for aspiring entrepreneurs, what would they be?
My words of wisdom would be: be extra patient and they will be able to experience as much as possible such as the different tactics to start their business. Also they need to acquire a formal management course, which will help them to tackle their day-to-day problems in work. They should know that there is no replacement for hard work so they can be strong both physically and mentally. It is like a mental war around you so you need to be prepared before taking any action.
