Dubai Based Anjali K. Couture displays her Summer Collection at Pune Fashion Week
Dubai based designer Anjali Khushalani has made her mark in the Indian fashion scene with a spectacular debut at Pune Fashion Week. Since the successful launch of her private, Anjali K. Couture, in 2011, Mrs. Khushalani has displayed keen business acumen in retailing her designs.
Anjali showcased her spectacular Summer Resort 2015 Collection of gorgeous Indian and fusion designs, titled ‘The Modish Renaissance’, at the prestigious Pune show. “The fashion industry in India is extremely well established and has some of the most talented designers. It’s an honor to be selected to participate on such a coveted catwalk and I wanted to make sure my collection stood out. The aim was to create a commercially viable range while preserving my brand essence, and the response to the collection has been wonderful.” said the creative young designer.
The designer’s latest collection revolves from the Renaissance, a movement that aspires fluidity in form. Attires in the European era were grand in their silhouette and elegant when worn. This Conceptual twist to the historical movement is the dialogue behind Anjali K. Couture’s Summer Resort 2015 Collection. The modernization of traditional couture is brought upon through minimal embroidery and embellishments on Chantelle lace and Raw silk. Anjali Khushalani perceives the Renaissance as a movement that possesses the roots to give contemporary couture it’s revolution through garments designed for a modish dynasty.
Anjali was all praise for the wonderful welcome and efficient setup in Pune. While Dubai’s fashion industry is evolving at a fast pace, its Indian counterpart is well-developed and offers a fabulous platform for regional designers to gain added recognition and commercial success. India enjoys close ties with the UAE, which were displayed with their invitation to Anjali K. Couture and the designer hopes to see more of her contemporaries also given the opportunity to display their skill at such events.
