Sheraton Grand Hotel: Enjoy a City Staycation for Eid

Located in the heart of the retail and business district, Sheikh Zayed Road, Sheraton Grand Hotel is only a minute away from the Dubai metro station which connects visitors to the hotel, Dubai Airport, Dubai Mall, and many other convenient destinations for travelers and businessmen alike. It faces the Dubai World Trade Centre, and is very close to all the other retail and lifestyle spots within Sheikh Zayed Road.

A towering beacon of 54 stories, the hotel offers 654 luxurious guest rooms, suites, and premium serviced apartments, as well as a comprehensive business centre, Shine Spa for Sheraton™, state-of-the-art Sheraton Fitness and rooftop swimming pool, three restaurant and lounge concepts and a Sheraton® Club. The design of the room we were situated in conveys a sense of simplistic modern style with a complementary colour palette and stylish light fittings and furnishings. All rooms are equipped with signature Sheraton amenities, including the comfortable Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience® Bed, as well as free WiFi connection, LED TVs, tea and coffee-making facilities and comfortable work spaces with magnificent views over Dubai.

Our Grand Deluxe Room was well equipped with all the above mentioned amenities and as promised, we had a prime view of the Sheikh Zayed Road and the World Trade Centre in all its glory and vintage architecture in white.

We were made to feel welcome by personal touches such as handwritten notes and beautiful flowers on the dining table The whole experience so far felt absolutely enchanting and we couldn’t wait to prepare ourselves for the evening dinner at the Feast Restaurant.

Speaking of Feast, the restaurant has currently won an award for the Best Eclectic/International Cuisine in the Middle East in 2017.

Feast is influenced by the seasons and underpinned by a belief in a ‘fresh from the market’ approach. The open kitchen and attentive service at Feast make it the perfect choice for individuals, families and business patrons to gather, mingle and taste an abundance of flavours.

The seven live cooking stations, the cozy private dining and the al fresco area provide a rich assortment of dining experiences. The open kitchen, features a flavourful explosion of authentic tastes from the West, Middle East, India, China and South-East Asia, all personalized to each guest’s palate. Guests should save room for dessert as Feast also offers an abundance of sweet endings as well an international selection of hot and cold beverages, to celebrate the rituals and flavours from around the world.

Seeing how versatile Feast was in its abundance of rich flavours from the East to the West, it became clear to us why the restaurant was doing so well for itself. The night we came in for dining, Feast was offering a seafood live theme with a huge array of seafood to choose from. We had the choice of ordering our preferred fish or oysters to be custom cooked to our preference and we loved what the chef prepared for us.

To finish, we couldn’t wait to indulge in the dessert station. It was Feast’s version of Charlie and the Chocolate factory and our jaws dropped just watching the arrangement and presentation of assorted desserts from gelatos, to pastries, to Arabic confectionery and customized soufflés prepared by in-house chefs. Absolutely mesmerizing!

After dinner, we chose to try out the well quoted “State of the Art Fitness Club”. Our expectations were met with the grandiose experience similar to that we witnessed at the Feast.

The gym was larger than any hotel’s gym we have ever been to. It was professionally equipped and had all the workout logistics one could ask for. For a hotel, it was extremely versatile and there are free trainers on hand between 7 am to 8 pm. It surely exceeded our expectations and the workout session we had felt absolutely vigorous and satisfying!

The next morning, we were up by 6 am to try the breakfast experience at the Sheraton Conference Club, a complimentary lounge for Grand Deluxe Suite guests.

The breakfast buffet was plentiful  It offered different kinds of breakfast to suit all international tastes. We went for muesli, morning salad of kale and celeries, shakshouka eggs, an assortment of brown bread and coffee.  It was a pleasant meal and just enough to start the day.

After a leisurely breakfast, we were looking forward to our appointment at the Shine Spa in the hotel for an aromatherapy massage.

The therapy was invigorating and deeply relaxing.

After the experience came to an end, we had to pack our bags to check out before lunch time. We took one last look at our gorgeous suite, thanked and greeted the staff looking after us and left a small note on our work desk in the room applauding the outstanding hospitality and great service that was memorably, world class.

Our Final Verdict: We absolutely recommend Sheraton Grand Hotel, which is perfect for a city staycation or Eid Break.
