In support of Earth Hour 2017, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi is hosting ‘Moonlight Yoga’ to illuminate a powerful message about the need for climate action.
With over 6600 Earth Hour events taking place around the globe, UAE’s flagship St. Regis brand address invites UAE residents and in-house guests to participate in its complimentary yoga session on the moonlit pristine sands of Saadiyat.
Earth Hour 2017 takes place on Saturday, 25 March 2017 from 8.30pm to 9.30pm local time. Established by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour is one of the largest movements for the planet, spanning over 178 countries, and is a strong visual reminder of the globe’s determination to tackle the planet’s biggest environmental challenge yet.
2017 marks ten years of the worldwide movement for the environment, and the resort will join millions around the globe in support by powering down during Earth Hour.
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort will activate a range of energy-saving measures during Earth Hour. These include: turning off lighting for exterior signage and certain landscape areas, dimming or turning off non-essential interior lighting in the lobby and dining venues, using candlelight in appropriate public areas, and switching off fountains and pool heaters. All in-house guests will be informed about Earth Hour observances and will be encouraged to participate by turning off non-essential lighting in their room.
